Private Housing Questions

I recently got accepted into Madison, and I am seriously considering Campus Connect Housing, specifically Regent101 Double Rooms.

The prices are comparable for the rooms, which is a big thing. And since I'm really a big partier, I don't need what the public dorms provide there.

My questions are: What are the TV providers for the Campus Connect buildings?
Is Wi-Fi provided?
How does the Union Meal package compare to Housing Food (For meals)?

Thanks.

Better to email CC Housing with those detailed Qs.

Regarding the Union Meal account - You can open a Union Meal account by putting $250 on your WisCard (student ID card). You can buy food at 13 places around campus (Lakefront on Langdon and Der Rathskellar in Memorial Union, Capital Cafe in Grainger etc). However it cannot be used to eat meals at the dorms. You save 10.5% by having a Union Meal account because you don’t pay the 5.5% sales tax and you pay 5% off of the stated prices.

If you plan to live at the Regent, you may want to consult the food map in the above link to see how far these locations are from the Regent. It looks like one of the closest locations (to the Regent) you can use the Union Meal account at is the Engineering Eatery, which is open Mon-Fri 7 a.m.-9pm but closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

What about Union South when it opens again? Guess that’s still a ways off though (Spring 2011). Could get hungry.

Anyone can eat at the Res Halls food service places (dorm residents pay less since the cost of Res Halls includes supporting dining facilites) so you can eat with friends or anytime you want cafeteria style food regardless of where you choose to live. The Wiscard can be used for the dorm food service- but at the higher cost, ie no dorm resident discount- does save on needing to carry cash. This is not the same as the Union meal card.

And what do you mean, OP, since you are a big partier you don’t need what the dorms provide?

from new jersey, will major in psych, into sports, time to choose a dorm, where should i live?

What do you like–quiet woodsie setting, newer building in more urban setting, or more luxury? All are there to some degree.
