which one to choose, that's a question lol. Okay personally I perfer the latter and I'm trying to convince my cousin about it. Opinions?

One is not better than the other. If you personally like smaller, more intimate and LA focused schools, go to the private. If you like larger schools generally with more major choices go to the public U.

Which costs less?

it depends, if go to an oos public u i think it would prob cost more, but an instate public u will cost less. it all depends on the school really

Depends on many things. What is your financial situation? Is the public university your state school? How much aid is the liberal arts college willing to give? Are you even accepted at any of them?

Also, what are you majoring in? If you’re leaning towards liberal arts, you might benefit from the small size and humanities focus of a lib arts college. But if you’re thinking about sciences and engineering, the public university will likely have much better labs, facilities, research opportunities, and faculty.

well in terms of job opportunities and course/major options, I still would still say public u is a better choice. As considering financial needs, public u and private LA are almost equivalent as most private LAs give pretty good financial aids.

If money is not a problem, what would you choose?

Public. Private LACs are only good if you are exceptionally skilled at utilizing their opportunities and/or have family connections. A big state university will have FAR more opportunities and resources, although it will take more independence to utilize them than at a LAC.

^agreed. and I dont believe there’s many resources the students could use in LA because of the size.

^not true 10 char.

^ Very insightful response.

Oh, sorry. LAC’s do have a lot of resources. My college has scientific equipment that only 2 other schools, such as Stanford, have. Hope this is a more acceptable answer!
