@mtnkrt - If it is true that your parents will only be able to demonstrate that they have $10k available for your expenses, you will need to find someone who will guarantee to cover the rest of your costs, or you won’t be able to transfer your visa to another place of studies. Do you have a family friend or relative who can feed you and give you a free place to live while you continue to study here in the US?
That 10k (per year) is only for the college I’m applying to and we will be flexible about the money, my parents just don’t want my tuition to exceed 10-15k per year, otherwise they might not be able to pay for my stay. By the way, I guess I already found some colleges that can cost me only around 9-13k(with merit based) per year (excluding room&boarding), which is fine. But some of their deadlines are in March or until August so I can get a better deal with the upcoming SATs.
Are you applying for, admission for fall 2016? Do you want MERIT aid for your studies? If so, you need to check your deadlines VERY carefully. The deadlines for applications for admission for consideration for most of,the generous merit awards is December 1…not March, and certainly not August.
There are also deadlines for applying for, scholarships for at many schools. Those deadlines are usually LONG before August.
Where are you getting information that generous merit awards will be available to you with deadlines of March and August?
