I'm looking for private scholarships, for music ed or for voice.

<p>Most of the private music scholarships are competition based and tend to be regionally or locally based, offered by music societies, national, regional and local symphonies. Most of these can be found by googling orchestras, or symphonies and checking their education/outreach links. Many may have deadlines fast approaching, or already past.</p>
<p>For music ed, you can try fastweb and others, but there are few specific private ones. Sometimes your state's (or school's) teacher or music educators associations will have them; check their websites. </p>

Personally I know a couple of winners.</p>

Also check Hudson Valley Orchestra and the Westchester Philharmonic, and some of the smaller NY/LI ones, and in CT, the Norwalk Symphony, Stamford Symphony, Ridgefield Symphony, Eastern CT Symphony. They all had, or have had competition based scholarships for graduating high school seniors. </p>
