I applied for private residence housing in Illini Towers. Is this housing actually better than Peabody? Do people who live here still have opportunities to go out and whatnot? Or are the kids all anti-social?

Need help soon!!!

Any feedback is appreciated.

My son chose Illini Tower after touring several housing options a few weeks ago. It is much nicer than regular housing in terms of accommodations (two-bedroom suite shared by four roommates, with private bath and full kitchen, fully furnished, and weekly cleaning service). It is very well maintained. The trade-off is that it’s a bit more expensive and that there may be some loss of traditional dorm camaraderie.

In addition, unlike regular university dorms, in which you have several choices of where to eat, you can eat your meals only at Illini Tower, though they serve all day (something like 7 am to 7:30 pm without interruption, so you don’t have to schedule classes a other activities around meal times).
