I was just wondering on how I should report the scholarships that I have won from my community to UF's Financial Aid. I know how to get to the "additional aid reporting" form, but I don't know which section to put them under. Would a community scholarship go under the heading of "private scholarships"? And if it's one lump sum [$1000], should I put $500 for fall and $500 for spring or just $1000 under the fall column?

Yes, it would go under "Private Scholarships". I'm not sure if you're supposed to break it up $500 for Fall and $500 for Spring, but it would be a wise decision.

ya i broke it up. $500 for fall. $500 for spring. which one did u get?

I got a Private Grant for $500 last year, and I broke it up $250 for the Fall and $250 for the Spring.

Yea, definitely break it up.

how do you know if UF received the money from the private scholarships? will it says "accepted" when you list it under awards?

The Student Financial Affairs center usually sends you a letter or e-mail to notify you that they received an award letter for you. When I got my Private Grant, they mailed me a letter saying they had received it. But, to be safe, you should call as well. Also, it is university policy to hold the check for 10 business days before disbursing the check amount, so don't get worried if during the first 2-3 weeks of the semester, you notice that you haven't been given the money.
