Private vs. Public - International Transfer

I'm an international student studying outside the U.S., planning to apply for transfer in my junior year (currently a sophomore). I was wondering whether there are significant differences between Private and Public Universities as far as Intl. transfers are concerned. Is it possible to generalize which ones are easier to get into?

Thanks.

Usually public schools give preferential treatment to locals as far as admissions and financial aid is concerned. And usually this is not the case for privates. Given that, I would argue that privates are a better choice for international transfers.

Hope that helped some.

Some schools have the reputation of being far more transfer-friendly than others (regardless of public/private) For example, Cornell

Public schools are generally easier to matriculate into by transfer, but private schools are more popular.

i’ve always thought privates were easier on international students than public

eh… but i second fiona on the comment regardless of public or private it really depends on the school
