plenty of indian guys, but there's still more korean/chinese/japanese/etc guys. mv's clique system is kinda complicated, but not horrifically exclusive; you can still make friends across the groups. if mv was one of those badly-written high school dramas, the groups would be called the asian boys trying to act black, the girls who like 'em, the girls who hate them, the different levels of "fobs," the star athlete/class president/popular overacheivers, the super rich preps, the drama/goth people, the stoners, the skaters, the image-obsessed, the loners, the outcasts, the white-washed asians, the asianized white people, the white people who hate living in a sea of asians, etc etc etc. yeah i know trying to pigeon-hole the school's shallow i guess, but a good majority of the people are in between several groups. i'd expect mv to be a lot more liberal; how uptight is harker? lol, we have absolutely no dress code. they tried discussing starting to enforce a dress code last year after some idiot untied a girl's halter top when she wasn't wearing anything underneath, but the student backlash was so strong, they never mentioned it again. haha how sad.

Haha at Harker, you can't wear blue jeans. But you can wear polka dotted or striped ones. Odd. Thanks for telling me about MV!

use that 100grand or so (4 years) to buy a ferrari or something. GEEZ!

cannednish, Lol yeah Starr will be tough to beat. I need a miracle. Sorry for the confusion between MontA and MontE Vista.

Sorry to interrupt, but my kids go to Harker. I feel it's one of the best investments I've ever made, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Feel free to PM me if you'd like a parent's perspective (but one who's been pretty close with students over the last 8 years). It's not all roses there by any means, but from what I can tell it's worth every penny.

I go to Monta Vista! :) Monta Vista is a GREAT school and our dance team is terrific. They placed first last year at Nationals I think. I think that at MV our clique problems are relatively low. The largest problem is probably racial segregation, but you can still make friends in all groups. The stress-levels are high at MV. I have a friend at Harker who is taking all the same classes as I am (only they are AP). Here at MV the classes are JUST AS hard. Except they aren't honors or AP ( I`m taking one honors course). So ya. :)

I think they made their choice by now considering they asked this question back in January :P
