Do UM students get discounts or something to Pistons/Lions/Red Wings/Tigers games?

I'd check with their ticket offices, but I don't think they have anything beyond maybe a generic "student" discount.

Oh man that'd be awesome.

I wouldn't go watch a Lions game if they paid ME money . . . .

Well, maybe if the Lions were playing the Vikings

hey, the lions may get good in the next four years...

My thoughts exactly.

Do any of you upperclassmen know anyone who's got an internship with a pro sports team in the area? I think I'd give my left nut to work at Comerica Park over the summer.

Umm, a kid from my hall last year works as a beer vendor at CoPa...probably not what you had in mind, though.

you really don't have any faith in the lions?

I was a Lions fan for one year. My first Lions game was on Christmas Eve, when they lost to the Chicago Bears on a last second field goal to lose their spot in the playoffs. Which was incidentally voted something like the worst or most infamous moment in Detroit sports history not too long ago by a local radio station. Damn straight I have no faith in them.

The Lions are basically hopeless until they get new ownership. WC has outright stated he doesn't care if the team sucks as long as they turn a profit. Which is really a shame, because the Detroit area has a solid football fanbase (as was evident by last year's orange out), and we deserve better.

The Lions are never going to amount to anything. Ever. The owner doesn't care that the GM has no clue.

As a Bears fan i remember watching dilksy's game and being like, oh man, too bad for them (the Bears weren't playing for anything at the time). It probably really sucked for lions fans. If you guys want a real team to cheer for this year, just look at my CC name. That's right. Super Bowl, baby. I can smell it.

Diezel: No, but my cousin got an internship with IMG, and deals with tons of pro athletes.

The Bears don't have a quarterback or any sort of an offense. They lived off of fluke plays and luck the past 2 playoff appearances. To say they are going to the Super Bowl is downright disgraceful.

yeah, the bears have a pretty pitiful offense.
But, the lions, with their new coach and young but star studded WRs don't have any potential? Damn! that sucks.

Star studded? More like coke-sniffing
Charles Rogers is on his way out, and if Mike Williams doesn't pick it up he will be too the next year. Good thing that Millen drafted Harrington, Rogers, Williams, and Mike Williams with first rounders. All except Roy are busts.

Millen has no clue what's going on, but the Ford family loves him still.

Problems for the bears too.....appears Thomas Jones and Lance Briggs (very underrated players) have been demoted, which I have no idea why....also, there's that Ricky Manning incident.....

heh, the Ricky Manning incident was pretty embarassing
Cedric Benson should be pretty good this year. If things with Grossman can finally click, maybe the Bears' offense can get rolling.

Ah, so the Lions are a football team. In Detroit. And the Bears are in Chicago. That's nice to know before I go up there.

Not going to bother with names of people...
