Hey, I knew that the Alabama-Huntsville hockey team existed...only because I was dragged to the championship game a few years back. And their mascots is the Wildcats or something like that?

Sorry, the UAH hockey team is apparently the Chargers. And apparently there's also a Hunstville Havoc hockey team in the SPHL.

sigh I don't know if I'll ever be able to mold you into a proper hockey fan. Speaking on which...any way we can turn this discussion from off-season football to off-seaon hockey? Or at least world cup? Something I might give a crap about?

no, who watches hockey and soccer? i couldn't even name 100 hockey and soccer players combined.

Since when was admitting that you're ignorant constitute some kind of argument against a sport?

maguo1 -- You will find that when you move to this part of the country, the people live for hockey. The Red Wings get more support than any of the other three major sports.

Hockey is HUGE at Michigan....... it's hard to get tickets, argubably as hard as football and easier than basketball.

Deee-troit Basketball?

Only because they've done well the past 2 or 3 years, and they've mainly only been popular in Southeastern Michigan. Red Wings have a more consistent fan base that spreads not only across all of Michigan, but the whole country.

Hockey is definately much more popular in Michigan than the vast majority of the country, but then again I wonder what the NHL lockout did to the Red Wings. I mean sure the diehards are back but I don't know about the more casual fans...

sorry guys. i never realized that people even watched hockey. Being from South Florida, hockey is virtually nonexistant. I just learned the other day that a hockey game is split into three periods, not quarters.

Oh. The Chargers. That's right.

I've got to practice those hockey chant thingys...
