Hey everyone, I'm new to College Confidential. I am a rising highs school senior. Ever since 8th grade I have really wanted to go to Princeton. It's my ultimate dream. But with how hard it is to get in these days, I feel really nervous that I won't make it. Do I have any chance of getting in?? Please let me know!

If Princeton doesn't let you in, there's something wrong.

You're probably around the top of the applicant pool. Everything is pretty much out of your hands now EXCEPT for the essay. If you write a killer essay and apply ED, you shouldn't worry too much. But then again, no one is a shoe-in. Good luck

Wow...but exactly what ivyboy says...you better just make sure your interests lend yourself towards something that makes you unique...not just that you're a top scorer in...everything. Ask yourself this question: what one thing do you devote time to that Princeton could say "hey, look at this person, no one else is like this, so let's take them"? What is your passion? Are you a guy or girl (doesn't make a ton of difference--those scores are incredible!)? As long as what you say is true and your references will attest to it, you shouldn't have too much of a problem.

Ethnicity: white male

In any case, the OP has an exceptionally strong chance of admission (especially since he is a legacy candidate).

Sorry...I went back over it quickly and didn't catch the white male part. However, I still stand by my comment about the passion. I suppose what I meant was more of a question to make sure Biochem969 focuses on building up in the essays and application; that is, your stats are only so good--it's writing essays that help make your application (something that us CCers don't really see : ) ). Essentiall, a hook (check back through this forum for more on what a hook is--there are several good things said that help). And I agree...Biochem969 has a very good chance.

Why do you want to go to Princeton. Can you show to the University that you really want to attend (other than your legacy status)?

Maybe I'm just upset that one more spot has been taken for Princeton Class or 2011, but I smell a troll.

what is a troll?

It means the OP's stats are fake and the post is a hoax.

In this case, though, halapeno's right. Your profile is good. The trick now is going convincing the AO that you're a good fit for the Princeton, that you really wants to be there, that you'lll take advantage of Princeton's resources, and that you'll add something valuable to the class. Strong essays and recs that make this case will help you stand out from the numerous other applicants with excellent profiles.

How do you get a 790 in math? Usually if you leave one blank you're already down at LEAST 20 points....

yeah the math curve is tough, i left 1 MC blank, got the rest correct, and got 2 write-ins incorrect (the rest were correct), and i got 720

Either 43% chance, or I smell a troll
