Probably a Dumb Question, but hey.

Is it easier or harder to get into Princeton if you live in NJ? :|

Easier, they favor New Jersey students.

I would disagree. Although there are more students at Pton from NJ than from any other state, that is because much more students from NJ apply. In fact, I’m almost certain that the acceptance rate from NJ is lower than the total acceptance rate.

And this takes into account the children of professors and other individuals in the vicinity somehow connected to Pton. Simply, it’s more difficult for the average applicant to be admitted if they’re in-state.

S got accepted this year and went to a Jersey regional alumni event for new admits. They reported an acceptance rate of only around 6%. That is not for the entire state, but for the section of the state this particular association interviews.

Ah. Thank you. (:

Thats not to say that the proportion of great applicants isn’t lower in NJ tho also, which it probably is. (People might be drawn to “throw” applications at the school because its close and they know it, but perhaps not because they’re the most qualified applicants.)
