Essays: Well my common app essay should be good, but I don't expect anything amazing or spectacular from myself.

Teacher Recs: One should be amazing because he spent a week with me at the international science fair and is a friend in addition to being my teacher. The other should be pretty good as well. Counselor rec should be decent as well.

Subjective stuff:
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Multiracial (Half Indian, half Caucasian)
Income bracket: 100,000-120,000

Dartmouth is definitely my top choice but let me know if that is a totally unrealistic expectation or whatever.... Thanks.

@DartmouthForever: My 5k time is around 16:20. I know I can get a lot faster than that; I physically developed really late, so I don’t really think I am in as good of shape as I could be, but of course, the coaches aren’t going to buy into that. I contacted the coach, a few days ago and he said that my times do not surpass his top prospects so I wouldn’t really be able to integrate cross country into my application well. I am confident that if I get in to Dartmouth without athletics that come next fall I would easily make the team. But it’s good you think I have a decent chance even without athletics.

@perfectpixie: I didn’t do my internship in India. It was in scottsdale, Arizona.

I think you have a very good chance to get in with those stats. You have really good SAT IIs, you have a lot of APs, couple could be higher but at least you took a lot…being half native American should be a hook no? I think you should get in ED. But hey I am just a parent looking at a lot of prior year stats for similar applicants and guessing…so good luck.

Well I am half Indian and half caucasian… I think being Indian makes you an ORM. Relatively good, is good enough for me. As long as it isn’t completely ludicrous to think I have a shot at Dartmouth :)

Im looking for chances too… any comments would be appreciated

How did you get a 3 on AP chem, but a 750 on the chem sat ii? I’m not saying that you could have had a good day on the day of the SAT II and a bad one on AP exam day, but to put this into perspective, I got a 5 on the AP Chem exam and a 720 on the SAT II.

I took chem sophomore year, and it was my first AP exam. I got flustered on the free response and kind of gave up and didnt answer some of the questions.
