(Probably) Late Counselor Recommendation... Ugh.

I added three extra schools to my list of where I’m applying and asked my guidance counselor (nearly a month ago at this point) to send the necessary documents to these schools. I submitted my app to one of them, Vanderbilt, two days ago and logged onto the portal yesterday only to see that there was a red X next to counselor rec. (Interestingly, all of the other Naviance materials are there.) The deadline for the materials is listed Jan 1, before schools resumes, and I’m worried that Vanderbilt won’t get it in time. I’ve emailed / Skype-messaged her, but school starts Jan 3, so I would be surprised if I got a response before then.
My questions: do you think this could be a processing issue? like, maybe they have it but just haven’t linked it to my account? (Yikes, I hope this is the case.)
Or, if they never got it for whatever reason, if she sent a new copy on Jan 3 (2 days past the deadline), would this be too late?

Wait until the new year. It is likely that both your HS guidance office and the Vandy admissions office is closed until that time. Typically there is some slack give for documentation to arrive from high schools.
