Probably not the appropriate place for this, but...

I absolutely loved Vassar when I got in, but I ended up going to Wesleyan. Is there a way I can either (a) take summer classes or (b) do a semester at Vassar? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Vassar does not have summer courses but Vassar and Wesleyan are part of a 12 college group that allows students to "study away" in the US. I am sure Wesleyan's website has something like this from the Vassar website.

12 College Exchange in Brief
The participants are: Amherst; Bowdoin, Connecticut College, Dartmouth,Mt. Holyoke, Smith, Trinity, Vassar, Wellesley, Wesleyan, and Wheaton. Students may also apply to Connecticut College’s *National Theater Institute, the *Dual Degree Program at Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering, and *Williams College's Mystic Seaport Maritime.

Sounds like a fun opportunity. How many students (in total or from any school) take advantage of this?

Don't know about numbers but here is the link on the Wesleyan site -
Wesleyan University : Admission

I am sure there must be someone at each of these schools who can advise on the program.

Some past discussion here
<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/370594-12-college-exchange.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/370594-12-college-exchange.html</a></p>

I think it would be a great opportunity for science majors in particular who are often unable to go abroad due to program differences but who may want to "get away" for a semester to try out some other place. Not quite the same as being abroad of course!

I expect that most of these US colleges follow a similar progression of courses even in the sciences.

Dartmouth might be a bit tricky to fit into as they are on a quarter system. I know that some of these schools, Vassar for one, have joint five year engineering programs with Dartmouth that involve a full year or two at Dartmouth.

Are you sure Dart is on the quarter system? They have a summer semester that sophomores take, but I thought they were otherwise on the semester system. Maybe that changed. I had a friend from Dartmouth who did the 12 college exchange when we were at Vassar- worked fine.

Quarters..

I am sure the Exchange program takes this all into consideration but I would check with the advisor for the program.
