<p>Also, I'm having a hard time figuring out when the FAFSA deadline is for transfers who plan to attend school next fall. I currently go to a local 4-year college and have not filed the FAFSA, but if I transfer, I'm going to need aid to attend.</p>

<p>Yeah if youre planning to transfer in the fall the app deadline would be the same. Fafsa is generally like the first week of March or so (but double-check on DoE’s website bc it might be february) filing for the previous tax year. But each year’s aid goes into effect from July through June of the following year. So, if you’re applying to transfer now, you’ll file your fafsa next feb/march, using 2011 info, and whatever aid you’re eligible for will start around next fall.</p>
