Problem international

Hello guys i want some help well i am an international student just completed my A-levels i have 5 out of 7 distinctions(top in the country) and almost perfect SAT scores but the problem is that i was always from the start homeshooled and i wanna experience the ultimate college life i was intrested in ASU since i was in 9th grade(saw a party vid on youtube) i really wanna attend ASU but i am quite sure with the kind of stats i have i can pretty much get into some ivy’s or “elite” college in US (i dont wanna study in england) i really like ASU’s party scene but worried that if i attend ASU i will not be able to getinto a prestigious postgrad school for my MBA so what do you guys suggest should i apply for other uni’s later this year and attend ASU’S ESL for 3 months (although i doubt it will help much ).i just wanna do that so that i can attend and enjoy ASU as the classes will be on tempe campus and i love the idea of living in dorms and in a college town BUT i dont know whether i will be able to interact with some UNDERGRAD students or will i be stuck with my “INTERNATIONAL” mates lol.? please i really need some help:)
(money is not and issue ):)

While I’m not an ASU student yet (recently admitted) , I have a feeling that the reputation for putting partying before academics is inaccurate. There is over 50,000 students at the Tempe campus so there is all kinds of personalities. Im sure there people who are only there for the parties but there also are people who are there for the academics. Also keep in mind the Barrett honors college which is for students who really excel (as it seems you do). If you want to have fun in college but still get a great education I don’t think you can go wrong with ASU. With that said , you should still apply for ivies etc. to keep your options open

Thanks gio1126 i was thinking about barett honors and wanted to know if it is well respected ? my major will be economics and want to do my mba from penn or stanford.i really like the idea of having a feel like a private uni while attending a LARGE public one :D

hey Barretts is extremely well respected now, and ASU is in the top five in the nation where recruiters come first, if you graduate honors with a great GPA you’ll be absolutely golden, the WP Carey school of business is ranked 11th in the nation for public schools, and 24th overall I believe. It’s only growing too. I personally think you should go somewhere you LOVE and will be happy there - you can get a great education from ASU, especially if you do your research on professors on ratemyprofessors.com and choose classes that will challenge you, like the honors college. And thats something I loved about barretts too - they’re purposefully keeping it very small, to about 1700 students, so you belong to a sort of exclusive section of campus with a lot of individualized attention and instruction plus you have access to not only aaaalll the resources of a very large research university but special things just for honors students :)
