Tufts(Economics)
Georgia Tech (Engineering)

Also, how much should I be worried about my grades? Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!!

your grades have an upper trend, so colleges will definitely see that. nonetheless, those Bs and Cs won’t help your chances. your extracurriculars are good. here is what i think:

NYU: waitlist
Notre Dame: watlist
UNC: accept
CMU: borderline waitlist/accept
Tufts: accept
Georgia Tech: accept

I definitely think your grades won’t help your application, but the upward trend is definitely a good thing… Also, your test scores and ECs can only help your application… overall not bad! Best of Luck!

Thanks for the input!..anyone else?

You ventured into more difficult courses early on, so the early grades may not entirely be a disadvantage – seems like most people dont take Calc 1 until they are seniors. Plus, like you said, your courseload is ambitious. It is also very interesting that you did so well taking courses at the college level – less “busy work” for a more ordered mind? Your ECs are solid and focused. I’m gonna hafta give you across the board accepts.

Thankss!! That makes me feel alot better. Bumping for more input.

I think the fact that you showed improvement over the years is a good thing. Obviously it’s not ideal that you started to buckle down late in high school but it’s not all that bad. Especially considering that you have a great ACT and lots of ECs I think many of these are in reach. I’d say the only ones that may be difficult are NYU and ND.

Thanks!! Anyone Else?

Bump

NYU: low reach
Notre Dame: reach
UNC: accept
CMU: low reach
Tufts: accept
Georgia Tech: accept

my predictions :33

bump for more input…thanks guys!!

Last I remember, NYU Stern required a mid to high 90 gpa. It’s a far reach but perhaps if you get a good regular SAT and push your gpa up somehow, you’d get in because your EC’s are great. Carnegie/Notre Dame are pretty tough as well because they’re also very competitive business schools. You should be alright for everything else however

Chance back if you can:

BAWWMMPPP

Comeon guys im freaking out…

It’s hard to chance you because your EC is A and your grades are B. I would say UNC is a match. NYU is a strong possibility. I am not familiar with CM or Tuft. Did you try other schools? I believe you’ll do well. It seems you know what you are doing.

:(|)

I did apply to other schools. I have gotten into backups but those listed are my first choice schools.

I want to start off by saying that you should be proud of how much your grades have improved over past year. You are going to be successful no matter what school you are accepted into because you finally got it!!. Concerning your chances of getting into school of your choice my daughter found out on 3/20 that she did not get into UCONN she was branched. My daughter has a GPA of 3.42, is in top 25% of class and scored 1790 on SAT’s., also she has been taking Honors and AP classes since her freshman year. With this being said I think UCONN is a reach for you based on your grades and test scores. I wish you luck and any school that gets you as a student is going to be lucky because you finally got it !!!

No, I don’t think grades will matter that much in your case, since you have an upward trend in the 3 years and the admission officers will see that. GT is a match I think; as for the rest, although some might be reaches, you have lively chances.

Good luck!

You do have a very good upward trend from 10th grade up. How were your grades from 9th grade as you did not show on your post. Although the upward trend would help, but your overall GPA is still too low for top schools. Remember the admission stat already reflect those who have a strong upward trend. If your GPA is far below the 25%, the chance is not good unless you have something spectacular to show which I don’t see in your credential.
