So, I got my report card today......Got A's/A-'s on all subjects, including the 3 AP's im taking this year.

However, I got a 61 in PE, vs. my 98 for PE last quarter. Next to the grade, the comment listed states for "excessive abscences". I remembered that I had to leave school early about 6 times this year b/c of doctor's appointments. However, my school has already sent out the mid-year reports.....

Should I write to the colleges explaining about the 61 I had in gym for this quarter? What should I do?

Surely, this should not look too bad for adcoms, right? It is only PE after all.......

Even in PE, 61 is really bad and therefore will hurt you unless you have a good reason to explain to colleges.

Ask your GC if he/she can write a letter.

I do have a good reason to explain to the colleges -

But if my GC is unable to write me a letter, should I discuss the grade with my PE teacher? If that leads to nothing, should I take the risk to write my own explanation?

I have the same problem myself, but I heard somewhere that colleges don't really look at PE grades.
Hope this helps.

Why wouldn't your GC be able to write a letter? If worst comes to worst, tie him/her up and force the person to write the letter. :)

Well, my GC isn't a really "helpful" person, so as to speak.

And I think I'll be dead before I tie him up, lol.
