My Verbal Score is quite low (570). But my overall SAT score is ok but not good (1370) since i aced the math. I got 800 in both Math IIC and physics and 680 in Writing. Does my application have to be extremely impressive to get accepted?
BTW I’m an internation student.

It is extremely difficult for anyone to get accepted to a place like Harvard with such a low verbal score. The verbal score is the most important score because no matter what major you choose, you'll be expected to do lots of reading and writing.

It is also unlikely that adcoms will take your international status under consideration. There are plenty of non native English-speaking internationals who obtain verbal scores of 700 or higher.

I'm retaking SAT in January. Do I need to get as high as 700 ? It's impossible.

Are there any good schools that don't require such high verbal score?

it's not impossible, though it's quite difficult. i'm an international, and i got a 700. that was after retaking it. the first time i had a 570, and i thought, "this score is not going to make me competitive." you'll just have to try very hard in january, and hope to aim at least a 650. the higher the better.

Why is verbal score most important? I absolutely well understand scientific difficult texts, but my verb. is awful.
