Problem with Novel based passages in CR

I think I got why I get super low (490CR) and some times good enough (600+ CR). I noticed that when there is a science / biology / history related passage, I comprehend and read much better and get only ~1 wrong but when the passage is an excerpt from a novel, I score really low (10+ wrong).

I just can't comprehend it. I have never read a novel in my life. It feels so complicated and vague.

Is tips to tackle this weakness in a week?

Go through the “novel” passages in the bluebook tests and try answering those questions. Read through some of the pinned topics for tips for the CR section and remember the golden rule: “every correct answer will be supported by the text.”

You could also look up short stories and just try reading them for comprehension. If you’ve never read a novel though, that’s a pretty big hole to fill in a week.
