Problem with SAT Scores

Hi,

I would like to shortly describe my problem in order to get maybe some advice in that.

So, currently I am a student in high school, but I am applying to NYU for Early Decision II on 1st of january 2015. I was completing my whole common application, essay, letters of recommendation and everything since 3-4 months, I have my essay and literally everything besides the scores of SAT.

My problem is, kind of - I am also an international student, so I have decided to prepare well for that test and I registered myself for 6th of December, which was my worst decision ever and that caused my problems now. The problem is, that they did not let me take the test because of an issue with the admission ticket, so I am so over, because I have everyhing besides of SAT scores. I did not take ACT or anything else; I have nothing.

The next date when I can take the SAT is on 24 th of January, so the scores would be available around ~7/8 of February. I have added to my additional information in Common App that I would like them to "take a look" at my mid term grades as well before making the decisions, because my past was very struggling (I have skipped one year in high school etc.) so I wanted them to see an improvement with my grades, gpa and challenging myself in general. So my grades would be available at the beginning of February as well.

A problem is, that actually they have to inform me about my acceptance before 15th of February and here is that struggle. NYU is my first and last choice college; if I would be accepted, I will surely attend. But I have no idea what should I do in that situation. I am very passionate about that college and I am well prepared for everything, but I did not predict that situation with SAT and literally I was crying because I am so afraid that whole application will fall because of that thing.

Could you advise me something? Will it be likely possible to excuse that circumstances and still have a chance to apply? Because I will submit my whole application before 1st of January.

I would take SAT on 24th and get results on 2/8/15 and my grades would be able around this date as well. They have to inform me about my acceptance before 15th of February, because of Early Decision 2.

What should I do? Can I ask them for still having a chance? The problem is only because of SAT...

NYU has several different ways to meet the test score requirement, including that you meet the requirement if you have an IB diploma or submit three higher level IB test scores, see <a href=“Standardized Tests”>Standardized Tests.

If you cannot meet the test requirement, you have a serious issue including that NYU expects all testing to be completed by the application deadline, meaning by the December test date. The Jan test is not only too late for ED2, it may be too late for regular admission, which also has a Jan 1 application deadline. If you have none of the alternative ways to meet the testing requirement, you should contact NYU admissions and see if anything can be done including possibly accepting the Jan test and treat your application as one for regular admission.
