<p>Hi. As we are entering the ninth week, I'm just fed up with the TA (although it's too late). His grading system is way to harsh. I put in my effort, read the assignments, and attend all lectures and discussions. He's too uptight, and strict. What can i do? If i go to the professor and talk about regrading, will it make the situation worse? or should i try to talk to the TA? Should i change section, to another TA?</p>

<p>nope… no curve. only one midterm and one final. it’s a polisci class… he’s so harsh. i think im gonna talk to the professor about his opinions whether i really deserve the grade and ask him to regrade it. If that doesn’t work out then i will just go to the TA and ask him how i can do better and hopefully he can give me more points…</p>

<p>too late to change sections, right? because classes are usually normalized by TAs, so there won’t be any single TA grading more leniently/harshly than the others. you’re always welcome to approach the professor and state your concerns, but the professor is then probably going to (1) look over your work him/herself and (2) alert the TA that you raised this issue. the TA, depending on what kind of person he/she is like, might not take it very well and be even more critical of your last few assignments.</p>
<p>this should have been addressed earlier in the quarter, because the best thing to do would’ve been to sit down with the TA and have him/her go through their grading of your work, with you present. you could then discuss how to strengthen your arguments and implement them in future assignments. i mean, it’s not too late to do all this … but time isn’t on your side.</p>
<p>yeah… i totally understand. it’s just that i just got my midterm last friday… and his office hour was the next week. so yes, time was very limited but couldn’t help it cos he graded the paper latest,… out of all the TAs!!! ughhh hate TAs!!!</p>

<p>agreed with astrina - whatever you do, don’t talk to the professor before talking to the TA himself.
In the future, become friends with your TAs and discuss problems with them ASAP. They’re more willing to help if you regularly go to office hours to improve your work.</p>
