Well you should definetly be able to get a summer internship for either U.S. Senator Nelson or Martinez (go to congress.org and look for their websites to find out about internship opportunities). Also because your from Orlando you should also look into State Senator's offices that are based in your region at www.flsenate.gov

Thanks! I was just a little worried since my friends all seem to believe that I should attend fsu=not UF since i want to get into politics and stuff

Working in the Florida Capital is so boooring. Set your standards higher and try to work on K-Street in DC. UF's undergrad carries enough prestige to get you into a very solid law school in the DC metro area.

However, if you simply just want to practice Florida Politics then FSU may be the better route to go.

Yea, it may beboring but I'm a total politics nerd, so I'll make sure to enjoy it. ButI don't want to attend LS in D.C I'm from NY and it's where I want to practice. But thanks it does make sense to attend FSU, BUT I'll leave to God's hands, he'll give me a sign.

I appreciate your time. Thank You!

FSU is only better if you want to practice politics pertaining solely to the state of Florida. If you are going to get involved with New York politics then staying in Tallahassee for 4 years will give you very few connections (if any at all). I can tell you from my friends personal experience that they got their bachelors and had 4 years of capital work experience in Tallahassee and was still only making 30k a year.

The real question that you should be asking yourself is: Where am I planning on going to law school?

I suggest you attend UF not FSU. I'm going to be a pol sci major and I plan to study for 4 years at UF and do internships in DC over the summers. I may even transfer to Georgetown after 1 or 2 years, but dont take FSU

Jeffrey,

What are your stats?

I moved here from NY a year ago and I explained how the school that I came from didn't offer honors classes b/c of it's size, but the 1 that they did offer I took.
G.P.A.:UF calculated= ONLY 3.5
BUT... I'm an URM; I was (Captin) Moot Court, Mock Trial, (President)Leaderships team, Student Council, Head of the Latin club and Film club. I also interned (summer, 40hrs/wk) at the American Museum of Natural History, I also baby-sit, work with my brither in construction company, volunteered as a math tutor, and worked in Winn-dixie. I hope that's what you were asking for.
Oh and my SAT's, they're not on my transcript so I'll have to check up on those, but I was told by two of my friends not to worry.
And I think my essay is pretty solid, not necessarly the grammer or eloquence as you can tell, but my content.
And honestly give me youropinion about what you think, I've dealt with pretty harsh thingsin my life so trust me, "I'm a tough cookie", lol.

The 2007 FTIC admissions is going to be really stiff. Given the fact that you are an URM that could help you a little. That will probably make up for the fact that you are out-of-state.

However, if you did not place within the median for the SAT or ACT of the class of 2006 then your chances are slim.

Here is the Middle 50% of the Class of 2006

High School GPA of 3.9 - 4.4
SAT of 1220 - 1390
ACT of 26 - 31

yea, I'm taking my chancs do you think my senior sched. will help
2 AP CLASSES- English & Physics
4 COLLGE COURSES( DUAL ENROLL.)
LATIN III
DEBATE
T.V PRODUCTION
?

Do you know what your ACT or SAT's are?

lol, oh no. READY? Sat's=950.
That will probably make up for the fact that you are out-of-state.
Sry. I mighta confused you I'm in state now
