For those of you who have taken Algebra 2, how many problems and how much time do you usually have on a test?

I had about 30 problems half multiple choice half short answer and one essay question.
We have the entire block to do the test which is 84 minutes.

Lets see if I can remember. I took Algebra II 2 years ago in 9th grade.

We always had the whole bell for tests, so 50 minutes. I had it 7th bell (last class of the day) so if I went a minute or two over, it was no problem.

I think we usually had around 20 problems for homework, but I really don’t remember. I know we always had all evens.

How many problems did you have for the tests? Were they multiple choice or short answer?

Our tests were always short answer. I don’t think I’ve ever had a math test (in HS) that was actually multiple choice. One of my teachers gave us a few, but there would be letters like A-J for answers and it was really short answer.
We usually had about 20 questions on tests. 5 points per, but you usually don’t just get a question wrong and get 5 points off. You get partial credit.

About 8 MC questions and the rest were FRQs. So, 8 MC and about 6 FRQs. They typically took 50 minutes if you were prepared but my teacher gave us 82 minutes (full class period) for the tests

I never have MC questions on an algebra II test, also, how do you have an essay on a math test? Unless it’s one of those lengthy word problems. We usually have 20-30 short answer problems in 50 mins or so.

the essay part we would have like 3 parts to it and we have to write using our math vocabulary on how we arrive at an answer. It’s open ended like “explain how to solve an equation using the method of substitution” etc.

We have ~8-10 FRQ’s depending how long the questions were. We have 40 minutes to do the test.
