I just submitted my application to three schools. I just realized, though, that I forgot to waive my right to see the teacher forms. Those forms were submitted by paper by my school, so I've never had the opportunity to see them anyway......is this a problem?

Also, all of my school forms have been submitted by mail. Only my guidance counselor and one teacher answered the email saying they would submit it by paper, the other teacher just ignored the e-mail request I sent. Now I can't submit my app to schools that require two teacher recs....is there anything I can do other than asking the teacher to respond to a new e-mail?

If you delete them, then re-add them without an email address, the Common Application website will just mark them as a paper mail-in. Then you can submit it without a response to the email.

fyi -- the right to see them doesn't simply mean seeing them before they're sent. it has to do with your right to see things in the file -- the buckley amendment gives you the right to see things in your educational file -- so waiving your right to see the recommendation tells the person preparing it that you will never be able to see it -- otherwise you will be able to see it at some point if you ask to see whats in your file.

i have no idea how the common app email process works for teacher recommendations -- when my kids applied it was all paper so i can't help you there.
