Process and Chances of Transferring from CSUN to SLO/UCB

Hello everyone!

I just finished my first year at CSUN. I have a total of 52 units completed with 26 of those units coming from CSUN. The rest of the units are from AP’s I took in high school. I live relatively close to home (2 minutes by car) and I have wanted to go somewhere that takes at least 2 hours by car that is also a pretty good university. I currently have a 3.96 GPA. What are my chances of transferring to SLO/UCB or another good UC? Do I only need 60+ units to transfer to SLO? I’ll have a total of 78 units by the time two semesters go by. Are there any GE requirements needed to transfer?

Thanks for your time,
Prxmula

In terms of UC, go to assist and match the major req at UCB with course titles and description of courses already taken or planned at your CSU. If you need IGETC for that major at UC do the same to try and complete (or general breadth, whichever it is). Being as you’re CSU to UC it’s pretty doable by checking out assist. Your GPA is very strong.

While UCB isn’t as CSU friendly as UCLA (UCLA is the top CSU-friendly UC), a lot of students transfer from CSU to Berkeley.
