Processing/School forms

Does the colleges take a period of time to sort everything out in order to check off what they received? I called Vanderbilt today and they said I was missing a lot of stuff, like my college transcript, common app, fee waiver, and SAT scores. I sent my transcript in back in 2/9, but just submitted my common application last night. Is it because they haven't processed my common application that they are "missing" everything else when all of my documents might just be sitting in a bin somewhere unprocessed?

If you’ve just submitted your common app, it’ll take them some time to process it. Their systems won’t update your status with the electronic submission of the common app.

As for the transcript and SAT scores, they may be in a bulk folder (which many colleges keep EVERYTHING in that came from an applicant who doesn’t yet have a file) until they process your common app. If they don’t show up once your common app is processed, you may need to send them again, though. Some schools will contact the College Board to get the scores if you’ve already paid to have them sent but they were misplaced - I had this happen with Emory.
