I have turned in everything except the recommendations. How long do recommendations take to be processed? It has been almost a week since my teachers faxed their recommendation forms. (Still says not submitted on myMIT) Any help is appreciated greatly! :D

At this time of year, it can easily take up to a few weeks – everyone’s forms have arrived at MIT at just about the same time, and the mail room staff needs to sort thousands of pieces of applications and update the online checklists. In addition, the admissions staff is off for the holidays.

You can assume that your recommendations are safely at MIT, and if there’s a problem, you’ll be able to re-send them in a few weeks when the admissions office posts that they’re done sorting all the mail.

What if one of my recommending teachers sent hers months ago in advanced?

Don’t worry about it until MIT posts the blog entry saying they’ve sorted all the mail.
