Ooh I loveeee Grey's Anatomy. It's really the only show on TV that I watch besides Friends re-runs. It is fairly cheesy and predictable, but I have always viewed it as the lovechild of ER and Scrubs. I think it's a nice combination of the two.

^^ exactly, and part of me really loves the dramatic nature of the show sometimes, its nice to worry about these peoples problems instead of my own (read: princeton deferral/finals/worrying about 6 other schools as well)...it is very relaxing to sit down with greys and food...which is ironic, because you wouldnt think of surgery as relaxing (although cool it is...it makes me want to be premed at pton...ooooh perhaps i should send a new "careers" essay?? it can say, "yes, as an avid fan of greys anatomy, ive decided that i would like to change everything about my non science oriented application and become a doctor...") hahaha.

Me too! Well...I have considered going premed and Grey's Anatomy always enhances that. The other day my friend hit her head really hard and I told her that I hoped she didn't have a subdural hematoma and all of my guy friends died laughing and told me that I should tape myself and send it into a top medical school like Elle Woods sent in a tape of herself to Harvard saying "I object!"

But I really did learn what a subdural (I am likely spelling that very incorrectly) hematoma was from Grey's.

When are new ones coming back?!

grey's anatomy is a good show, a bit too exaggerated at times, but scrubs is just bloody hilarious! ("should i say that slower or go ahead and find someone who speaks fluent moron?" - dr.Cox ...LOL) i actually need to watch pt 2 of season 2 of grey's. (grrr...living here sucks.)

omg, tomorrow is the 31st and i have yet to write my 300 word-er and uni of chicago and rice essays! screams and flails

"procrastination is a lot like masturbation: it feels good until you realise you've ****ed yourself." i have no idea who said that, but i find it appropriate in my case. :P

haha I first started watching Grey's Anatomy just because I'm going premed.

lmao but then I realized that Grey's Anatomy has really nothing to do with medicine so now I just watch it for all the drama.

I hate McDreamy and he's a neurosurgeon, and I also plan on being a neurosurgeon.
In my med class, everyone always asks me if McDreamy is my favorite and then I get mad =/
hahaha

oh and j07, I think new ones are starting in 2 weeks.

^ i didn't mind mcDreamy till his wife came along. i really like the nazi lady, though. she's hilarious. but christina is definitely my favourite.

neurosurgery looks waay too complicated for me. :S :P (i would probably have asked if mcDreamy was your fave too :P )

I don't like blood and cutting people open is kinda creepy. And the whole being in charge of someone else's life is kinda not something I want to do. Otherwise, Doctors are pretty sweet.

Haha if I became a surgeon I would want to be a neurosurgeon too.

But I love McDreamy!!! I'm such a typical girl...
I think I'm the only one who likes Alex though. I like him. And I kind of like Addison too.

Actually, I like all of them except I think that Burke and Christina are such jerks to each other and get mad about the dumbest stuff. Haha ok well 9 apps still to go and...I'm going out!

And then I'll come home and watch MORE!

Well, I finally finished my "Why Swarthmore?" essay, which means I have three applications done (Dartmouth, Swarthmore, Williams) and only have to write the second half of my multipurpose Amherst/Middlebury/Princeton essay and the two short answer questions for Chicago. I have a few others, but they're not due until the 15th, so I'm just not going to worry about that right now.

By the way, my entire Facebook profile is basically made up of Scrubs quotes.

[quote]
Dr. Cox: Newbie, the only way you could be less productive right now is if you were in fact the wall which you're leaning against. Of course, then you would be providing some jackass with a wall on which to lean against and reflect on what a jackass he truly is.

J.D.: Look, Dr. Cox, I've been doing a lot of thinking, and I honestly think the only reason that you're not down at that hospital right now is that you're afraid.
Dr. Cox: I think you're right. I do. It's partly because you've gotten to know me this year, but mostly it's that, well, I told you I was afraid earlier today. So please don't tell me you've come to reiterate things that I've already said, because I know the things that I've already said. In fact, I'm the one who said them.

Jordan: I don't dislike you, I nothing you.
J.D.: That's special.

Dr. Cox: Relationships don't work they way they do on television and in the movies. Will they, won't they, and then they finally do and they're happy forever. Gimme a break. Nine out of ten of them end because they weren't right for each other to begin with, and half of the ones who get married get divorced anyway, and I'm telling you right now, through all this stuff I have not become a cynic. I haven't. Yes, I do happen to believe that love is mainly about pushing chocolate covered candies and, y'know, in some cultures, a chicken. You can call me a sucker, I don't care, because I do believe in it. Bottom line: it's couples who are truly right for each other wade through the same crap as everybody else, but the big difference is they don't let it take them down. One of those two people will stand up and fight for that relationship every time. If it's right, and they're real lucky, one of them will say something.

I love Grey's Anatomy, and I really identified with George until I found out he's gay in real life. Then I couldn't really root for him and Meredith. Still an amazing show though. I hope being a doctor is that fun.

I know it makes being a doctor look splendid. Does anybody ever notice though that the entire hospital staff is really attractive? Well...maybe not REALLY attractive but most of the surgeons are extremely attractive people and they're all very young.

And I don't know about yall, but last time I went to the hospital such was DEFINITELY (and unfortunately) not the case.

haha yeah not all doctors are attractive like that and who can believe that all the interns can date surgeons? hmm like George and Callie? haha

Personally, I used to be a Burke fan. He used to go to our rival high school, this school that is even more ghetto than us. But then McSteamy came along....I love McSteamy =)

^^mc steamy :). although i do like derek as well (sorry omz). he actually makes me want to be a neurosurgeon, not because of his looks or personality, but have you ever noticed that his surgeries are always the coolest? i mean, where else do you have to shave the head of a beauty queen to stop her seizures (from season 1 i was just watching)...plus when we watch brain surgery clips in psychology theyre like amazing....ahhh mabye i really SHOULD submit a new careers essay??? seriously, any thoughts on this??? good idea/bad idea??? haha i love how this is a procrastinating board, and now were technically procrastinating talking about the actual act of procrastinating by talking about greys instead... :)

haha I have a neurosurgery internship, it's awesome.
I've only seen heart surgery in person a couple of times, but I think neurosurgery is definitely the best.
I think it takes the longest though and it's the hardest to get a licensed in.
It's about 14 years of school.
ick

Where are you sending a new careers essay to?

one question: do they want it in by 1/1 their time or mine? (if it's theirs, i have 6 extra hours...)

January 1, 23:59 EST

okay, i am SAVED. thanks, zanna. :)

omz--im considering sending a new careers essay to pton. ive always been really into government, debate, social sciences, etc, however i really like ap bio...and since ive started to take the class, ive realized i am pretty good at science (contrary to what i used to think), so mabye i should send a new essay telling them about my new interests, but i dont know whether or not this is a good idea...

I think you probably could in the "What Else?" section, but don't send in an essay talking about this if it contradicts something you said earlier in the application. Basically, if you mentioned a desired career somewhere earlier in a short answer or essay, don't send in a new essay that says "wait, nevermind!" because it might just be distracting.

Also, Princeton knows that nearly everybody changes their major. Unless you need to apply to the Engineering school and send in the B.S.E. essay, I wouldn't worry about it.

Haha I also like OMZ's very official military time.
Whenever I see something like 23:59 EST I feel like I should become a spy.

OK, whatever, I'm weird.

My procastinating didn't bite me in the ass, as far as I know. Yay! I submitted 5 apps in the last 2 days, 4 today. I think I only did one thing wrong, not sending the financial aid thing before the deadline for Cornell. If I get screwed over for financial aid there, thats gonna really suck. But oh well, nothing I can do now. So now its time to play the waiting game.
