Oy... test tomorrow (first day back! Horrific!) and I really, really need to study. I keep getting sidetracked. Way past my bedtime.

Hey! I'm a new member and just wanted to talk. I don't mean to butt in on ur conversation or anything. BUt i am a big time procrastinater! Every project i get is done within 1-2 days before its due. I think the only thing that "helps" is partners in the assignment. Get someone who works hard and encourages you to get the thing done! I probaly only done like one assignment on time and it felt good! But i don't think theres a cure for procrastination... if there is where the hell was i when everyone discovered it!(

Hah! I procrastinated on my apps and ended up writing my essay the night before it was due, but I ended up with one kick-ass essay.

I procrastinate because I know I can. :(

It gives me a false sense of achievement when I get away with it.

Everybody procrastinates, some people do it more often and to a bigger extent then other people though. Best way to get over it is to remove your distractions and just do it. I used to procrastinate all the time, found it it was alot better having the assigment done way before the due date (like getting a project done a week or so early). Only stress comes from procrastination and WHY do you want to add more of that during highschool.

i dont really procrastinate in terms of days/weeks (for example if i am assigned a research paper due in 2 months, i already am gathering info within one week-- but i usually always write the actual paper the day before its due, unless i know i have a few big tests around that time, then maybe i'll write the paper a few days before). but that essay-writing always goes smoothly because i have already done so much preparation (gathered and organized the research over the two months, etc.)

my real procrastination problem is during the day...i always put off HW to check my email, go on CC, eat food, play with my dog, surf the web etc. and so i dont get to my HW until later.and by that time im more tired... so i'll say "i'm tired, i think i'll take a break" lol... its a sickness

oh yeah this is especially bad because i ALWAYS cram the day before for tests especially history and stuff, because for me it is pointless to study too far before the test date, because i forget everything. i do best on a test when the material is fresh from the night before (and the morning lol... i make study guides and look at it during the day).

for example, tomorrow i have quite a bit of homework due, as well as a Physics test (and its including stuff from before the break which i desperately need to review), and a US History test (which is covering a LOT of information, even stuff from november =O...) and what am i doing right now??? procrastinating!!! damn you cc :D

"I procrastinate because I know I can.

It gives me a false sense of achievement when I get away with it."

haha spirited away, I think that happens with a lot of us. When we procrastinate for the first time and get a good grade, we tend to do it again because "it works".

Hehe, that project? I started it at 1 am, finished 1 30 am, only read first 30 pages, and I'm presenting tomorrow.

haha i love doing book reports and projects on books i don't read/things i truly know nothing about

Haha, you're in good company

Things go fine for me if I make sure to start work on something the same day I find out about, whether it's a paper, test to study for, etc... If I do that, then I can't resist finishing it, if I don't I end up working on it the day before. : )

true to that.. everybody procrastinate, but some people just have it worse than others.. this is my suggestion... MAKE an incentive to do your work... on the other hand, it all depends on self-discipline and setting your priorities..

I cured my procrastination.

It's called "mother's watchful eye"

:(

Currently procrastinating on...

Chem lab
Bioly studying
APUS test
Chem test
Lang annotations/questions
Amnesty flyers
MUN position paper

Ok not too much tonight...

hahaha quitejaded!!
i know how that is, my mom and i get in constant arguments about me sleeping too late.

Im always found procrastinating on sunday night, i hate it, but i can't help it. I mean I try to study during the weekend, but it's hard :(

I have a real problem with procrastination. I was sick for most of last week and the week before, and I've done very little in the way of make-up work from that. I have a paper due next week, and I haven't even begun researching.

If I find a class or assignment particularly interesting, though, I put a lot of time/extra work into it. Right now, I'm doing that for my English paper on The Canterbury Tales.

I'm sort of worried about next year because I've heard it's even more difficult for procrastinators to manage without external motivation...

my friend put up a big sign in her room that says:

"WORK HARD NOW AND THE BENEFITS WILL COME LATER"
haha.

Oh yeah, procrastinating on Sunday night. I know how that is. But oh my gosh, it just feels so good to have most of my homework completely DONE right now... :D

I don't know WHY we procrastinate. I mean we all know it will feel GREAT to get things DONE, but for some reason...

It must be our bad human desires. We have desires and we want them THAT instant. It seems we procrastinating teens just don't have control of them yet. :/

Go to a library and do it. Or take an incredibly tough class which you have to do work for everyday!

BTW, I did my english essay in programming today :/
Only because I knew I would be able to though

EDIT: Grab a cup of coffee, put on some headphones, lean back in your chair and just do it :)

I'm able to survive now on procrastination but I'm getting worried about college. I have a feeling that the rules might change.
