One more , columbiaaaaaaaaaaa!

Good luck guys!!!

Hi, I’ve been hanging around here for a while now, and I have a question. What exactly happens if you don’t get your application in by a deadline? My school forms are all taken care of, but not my part of the application. Would colleges still consider an application that is a couple days late, especially if it’s tardy because of technological issues?

No one really knows, and I’m sure that the exact policy varies from school to school, but my perception is that as long as you’ve finished with a reasonable time frame (say 1 or 2 days after the deadline), you should be fine.

I’m so ****ed.

I handed mine in around 11:00~11:30, went back to submit MIT application, came back and it said ‘Not submitted’

I TRIED to submit on time but it got postmarked 1/2/10

Are my applications done for?

Well, I finished my Princeton app with five minutes to spare. The editing of the Summer essay was very rushed, and the short answers were all done in about five minutes. The main supplemental essay was also rushed but I am extremely pleased with its quality for the amount of time I spent on it. Very happy so far.

Just two more to go (Rice and Emory) and I am done! Feels great. haha

@Melissa93 - Technically a deadline is just that - a deadline. If the application is submitted afterwards, it becomes “dead.” However, I’m pretty sure most colleges are fairly lenient. They want to review your application because they don’t want to miss an opportunity to have a great student on their campus the next year. Chances are, they will take your application if it’s only a day or two late. Contact them if you want to make sure.

I just have to write a “Why Duke?” statement today. Then I’ll be done until I decide to start on my apps that are due on the 15th (Emory and GA Tech).

I am still shocked that I actually got everything done. =o

Me too, me too. lol

Guys I submitted EIGHT schools today. Dang…

Two more tmr (Pomona and Rice), and then one on the 15th…

Not to mention regular HW for school, and some stuff for one of my ECs that I have to do by Wednesday. :(

Thanks for reminding me. I have an AP Stat project I have to present the day I go back to school. ='(

So now I have two schools left (one due on the 15th though) and the Stat project.

Dang dansurxd! That was a good procrastinated short answer!

I’m not exactly out of the woods yet either. Tufts is due on the third, and I have five more schools due the 15th. But at least I have time (famous last words).

Plus I have to read for AP Bio. :(

girlcanDISCO: Why do now what you could do later, right?

I submitted my Johns Hopkins application at 11:59 last night  today is Rice

I’m working on Rice too. Their supplement’s realllly loooong, and I can’t recycle any essays. :(

i’m kinda new to this posting stuff so i hope someone can answer this question for me…

I applied to brown on saturday (jan 1st) but I submitted the common app and payment exactly at 12:00 (or 12:01). It still says “submitted on 01/02/2011”

i know it was careless but am i safe if I got my teacher recommendations and supplements in on time? (I submitted them at 11:50)

If you were allowed to submit the app, then it should be fine. Don’t worry about it.

hey, eveyone i submitted my apps on the 31st (im not actually procrastinator, but oh well, help me please), yet some of the school forms are not downloaded, especially by emory, vanderbilt and umich while the others are already downloaded? does anyone have the same problems in which they submitted their school forms already but it is just submitted status not downloaded by college status?
Thanks

Yo guys I turned in rice today and columbia yesterday, am turning in cornell tomorrow. But I’ve been hearing from people that I’m not getting accepted regardless because of how late i turned it in, that all the people who turned it in like a week ago will claim all the available spots. Is this true? Makes me want to cry lol.
