My proctor gave us 6 minutes less for reading. I had to completely guess on 8 questions. I am completely screwed... I didn't tell her, because I didn't notice. After the test had finished, my friend said she ended early. 8 questions wrong is about a 29-30, and even then, I probably didn't get perfect for all my other questions.

All I can hope for now is to take it again for the 3rd time on October and get a good reading score in time for ED.

I think I am cutting it very close, and I just came on this board to rant my thoughts out.

That’s knockout reasoning right there. I say bypass the ACT and just explain the issue to the colleges. They’ll probably add 10 points to your score.

How crazy… exact same thing happened to me. The proctor failed to read a clock correctly, and the start time on the board was 4 minutes off. I didn’t even look up though, because she would say begin, then go to the board and write the time, and I was already into the test. Plus I had a stopwatch to use, which was how I knew the time was wrong. When she said 5 minutes left, I was still finishing up the third passage! I had to guess on like 8-9 as well… I didn’t even get to read the questions!!! I tried to stop the lady afterwards and raised my hand and then she said to begin on science… so I was not as focused going into that section… ugh stupid proctor! I talked to her after and she said it was too bad… I had to go by HER time… even though it was wrong…

What are you going to do? File a complaint? I’m also a senior…I was hoping this was my last ACT, but I might be taking it again in October now. But do you know if the scores are cancelled if ACT complies with the complaint? Because the scores would be invalid then due to the mistiming?

Report her and ensure she doesn’t screw up others hard work as well. They might be invalidated, make sure to report this issue within the next 2 weeks.
