Prof. Edward Frenkel & Math 53

<p>Has anyone ever had this professor? If so, how is he? I noticed that the homework he assigns is a lot heavier than that by the other Math 53 prof, Alan Weinstein. Prof. Weinstein also drops the lower midterm grade if the final grade is higher; however, Prof. Frenkel does no such thing.</p>

<p>If you've had Prof. Frenkel, does he grade harshly? Does he lecture clearly? How difficult are his exams?</p>

Grading: 25% quizzes, 20% each midterm, 35% final</p>

<p>Math 53 - Section 2 - Multivariable Calculus
Instructor: Alan Weinstein
Grading: The course grade will based on weekly homework and quizzes in section meetings, two midterm exams, and a final exam. The worse of the two midterm exam grades will be dropped if the final exam grade is higher; on the other hand, there will be no makeup exams.</p>

<p>hw is not that bad... most of it is very straightforward, gsi's usually just grade on whether or not you make a good attempt, hw is never worth much, there are solutions manuals floating all over the place, and the more problems you do, the better off you are for exams.</p>
