Hello, I'm an incoming freshmen at UCSD this coming fall and I'm very confused as to whether or not to join a Preprofessional or Health Profession fraternity. In the event I do want to rush, does anyone know the pros and cons of each? For example, is Phi Delta Epsilon necessary better than say joining Pre-Pharmacy Society or Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Professional Honor Society? (I plan to pursue a career in pharmacy). Also, is it difficult to balance a professional frat and school work? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am utterly clueless as to what action I should take.

it’s basically the high school version of a club. join if you want, but it’s not going to count for anything unless you get into leadership positions and show them you’re capable and have passion for doing … stuff.

Oh, thank you for the help. I’ve heard that, even without a position, professional frats provide invaluable networking that is very helpful. Is this true? If so, in what ways are they helpful?

Hahahaha.

No.
