Professional Masters

I graduated in 2006 with a BA Biology and have since been working for an environmental testing laboratory. I would like to further my career potential by attending graduate school have been reading about a professional masters program. These types of programs are supposedly designed with industry relevance and direct experience in mind.

Most of the programs are relatively new, generally less than 10 years.

Anyone have any experience, or know where to obtain real hard facts about industry placement or salary info? I have not seen this information posted on any of the schools websites.

I would start by talking to your supervisors in the lab you currently work for and see if there’s any way to swing it so your employers will pay your tuition. They might have a certain program in mind that they want you to attend for location or cost purposes if so. If you could come out of this with a better job waiting for you on the outside with none of the hassle of looking and no debt, that would be pretty great, don’t you think? It might be a long shot, but it’s worth looking into.
