Being the Poli Sci grad that I was, what constitutes "professional work experience" as the top MBA programs so diligently seek for? Obviously, I can't get much far with just my BA in Political Science..I have applied for desk/office jobs on Craig's List with this major as there are not many sought-after employable prospects with this major..what am I to do? Anyone know what constitutes such professional work experience coming from Poli Sci? I have high aspirations for business or law school, and since the degree is liberal arts, where can I go for employable professionalism? Thanks..

Does anyone want to suggest a proper role/job for this?

By “work experience” MBA admissions mean they want to see you set a career path and have a clear picture of how an MBA will help you to get further ahead on that career path. Merely taking a job because it looks professional and you taking it only because you needed something to qualify you for admissions is not enough. So, I would do something you enjoy and are able to make a living at.

If you don’t like that answer I would suggest you join LinkedIN and some groups you are interested in to open up profiles and then search people who have a combo of Poly Sci and an MBA and look at their career history. I am pretty sure you will find a wide variety of work experience.

Other options would be to gain leadership experience via non-profits or charities.

Thank you, Japher!
