Professional Writing or English Education?

I can't choose.
I like the Professional Writing degree program at one school, but the degree is science oriented. I can tolerate science- like biology, but I just don't feel like technical writing is the right fit for me.
I am also considering another college that offers English Education. My 'calling' in life is the definition of English major -writing, reading, analyzing, the whole english shebang. Yet my counselor says that I have "worked too hard for a blow-off major" and should strive for a "more focused degree". So I like English Education, as I am currently a student teacher for the English department and love what I do. But I'm not some passionate teacher. Like, I hate dealing with large amounts of kids and teenagers. I would want to teach a more mature group, or a class that has a directed group (i.e. my high school offers a plethora of lit classes - american, british, modern, nonfiction, etc. If I taught one of these, the kids would have picked the elective and would have an interest in it).
I don't know. I used to also consider Library Sciences but was told it was boring and lacked job offers.
I know I will only be able to afford four years of school, but would attend for a masters later on in life.
I'm a great student - high gpa, test scores, mutiple honors and aps, as well as a large amount of english/communications classes.
I just can't afford going into the wrong major at the start of the year.

You shouldn’t need to choose a major yet. And plenty of schools have English majors with writing options and teacher certification. Give yourself some time. You also may take a class to fill a requirement and end up majoring in the subject. (That happened to my sister. Instead of poetry, she ended up studying international relations.)
