Professions you would never want to be.

Construction worker or anywhere in the medical field.

A job with a low return on my investment in a degree (or degrees).

A 9 to 5 office worker who sits and works in the same place every day.

tightrope walker

Forum thread reader. (jk)

junglebrain, i’m going in to dental school so the more people I see that definitely wouldn’t want to go into it the better :D

1) Medical doctor
2) Nurse
3) Teacher (not including college prof.)

Never:
Researcher (Experimentalist)
Practicing engineer - especially ElecE, MechE, ChemE, CivE.
Anything medicine related
Anything business related

9to5 office worker…big nonononono
No medical field for me

Pharmacist
Middle school teacher or any grades lower
Music teacher

Anything medical (dentist, doctor, nurse, etc)

Teacher, because I hate kids. Maybe I could be a professor though, because hopefully college aged kids wouldn’t be such butt holes like hs kids usually are.
Writer/Journalist
Factory worker, because like half my family does this and it’s hard work that gets paid jack squat.

I do not want a career which is centered around making profit for a company or entity.

engineer…even though it’s probably the most marketable career

Airport customer service.

Teacher (any grade level; I don’t see how it’s “rewarding”, in any sense of the word)
Mortician
Medical Examiner
Forensics…yeah, it’s only exciting on CSI
I can keep going for hours.

Wow, I’m surprised how many people are dead set against being teachers. Somebody please elaborate.

Any kind of job that keeps me at a desk or in some kind of office setting.

karabear1 - pay is low; little room for advancement; you’re teaching boring, elementary stuff (pretty much the same curriculums for the rest of your life); I’d rather be in a high impact discipline like engineering than teach kids.

I’m interested in teaching, but I guess those complaints don’t really apply since I want to teach college.
