Although this sport is not my cup of tea, I gotta say I admire the guy.

Anyone surprised that his research is in the area of bacteria, including e-coli?

His belief is that he doesn’t often get ill because he has developed immunity from many bacteria because of his dumpster diving. Definitely not my cup of tea either, but maybe I can do my part by eating those ugly vegetables in my veggie crisper instead of just throwing them out.

Let me know how it goes ellemenope!

He said he is going to feed the pumpkin to the chickens, so he is not eating it. I think the trash looks like trash from a supermarket and not from an individual household.

Some of his research involves the bacterial genes called Cra and Crp. :)

FYI - freeganism is nothing new.

Your are right. He has been practicing freeganism for 30 years. Your post helped me learn a new word. And I googled and found more info about his freeganism in the video at the end of this link.

I’d say that a lot of the world practices freeganism…but not by choice.
