Professor not telling students his name nor providing a syllabus

Happy Holidays to all. My friend and I went to the department on Tuesday afternoon. We both asked the department chair for the professor’s name and my friend took a photo of the professor while he was speaking last week. The department chair said that he will look for the instructor’s name. Hopefully we get an answer this week. He was a weird professor though. It was a foundations of society class. He gave us an emotionally exhaustive closing statement on the last day before the test. He warned us about the future of the United States, he told us to be ready for World War III.

Got to give it to you for your dedication. But maybe you could spend your time better doing something productive…

This thread seems to be fake

Was Snuffleupagus there too?

@NASA2014: A person would not lie about a situation like this. This is serious. Not every professor is open with their students and are transparent, okay?

His name is Voldemort but we can’t speak of him which is why nobody has known him. Master of disguises.

Geeze no wonder why you’re a Slytherin and not a Gryffindor.

Op, the reason why people are doubting you here is because they’ve been offering you advice on how to deal with the problem yet you don’t even do anything, just come on here and complain about your so called professor. I don’t care if said professor told you to not take it up with the admin office, you should have done that right from the beginning instead of waiting. By prolonging this drama, you made it into a laughingstock and people began to take you less seriously. Also, no, this does not happen normally in colleges here in America. Your professor is not normal. I don’t know why you think his behavior is normal when it isn’t. It’s compulsory policy for every professor to have their contact info on the college website as well as to provide a syllabus. Unless your professor somehow happens to be an ex federal criminal (though I don’t think ex-feds can become professors?), there should be no reason for him to be so secretive bout his identity and not provide a syllabus.

I must admit, I applaud the OP’s dedication.
Someone must be very bored on winter break.

Well, this was fun. Closing thread. Most ridiculous thing ever. No college, 2 year or otherwise, operates this way.

@sweetlacecharm

Ex-Feds can definitely become professors. Tons of them teach criminal justice and similar courses. Now if the were deep undercover, James Bond types maybe not. :smiley:

Oh maybe you meant ex-Feds referring back to the criminals. I think they have, but I am sure it is rarer.
