<p>i've seen really negative reviews about professors i actually like. people complain about all sorts of things. my chem teacher is great and good about his office hours and never surly. If there are one or two negative reviews, it's probably just a bitter/slacker student. Take those with a grain of salt.</p>
<p>However, I was going to take a writing seminar, and there was page after page of how the teacher was rude, constantly pushing her political agenda, shot people down, was a terrible and arbitrary grader. That I took seriously. Use common sense in evaluating them.</p>
<p>I've used ratemyprofessor.com. If there are fewer than 10 replies, take it with a grain of salt. If there are 10 replies and 7-10 of them are saying pretty much the same thing, then the resource is valuable.</p>
