Many schools have websites/printed materials that rate professors. As a professor's wife for many years, I realize these ratings have their limits and can be easily influenced by one unhappy student. But as S picks his classes for registration, it would be nice to have some info on the reputations of the professors for the courses he is currently considering. Can anyone direct me to such a site or publication? Thanks.

You can have him look on the EASY system ( http://easy.miami.edu ). Look for "Faculty Evaluations" under "Course Registration." Most students use that when picking professors, but some also use http://www.ratemyprofessor.com (not many professors are listed there, however).

From my experience, the Faculty Evaluations seem to be quite accurate and useful.
