I just emailed my professor to make sure he sent my recommendation off to the colleges. He told me he would attach a letter of recommendation to the Common App form. I just received his email letting me know that he did not attach the letter of recommendation. He sent the form with just a handwritten paragraph about me. My applications are due on March 1st. I don't know if a paragraph will suffice.

If it’s in the evaluation section of the form, it’ll be fine. That’s how they were supposed to be written.

Profs can either write on the form OR attach a separate letter.

The paragraph will suffice, but whether or not it’s a strong LOR is the question.

His handwriting is sloppy. He spelled consistently with an “a”, and he crossed out a word. It just looks as though he quickly wrote some stuff down about me. He says nice things about me, but it does not look professional. I can’t help wondering what colleges will think.

I asked another professor to revise a recommendation he’d written me for a summer program. He agreed and is sending it off. Would I be able to call and have the “bad” recommendation thrown out?
