so, when i applied as a high school senior, i gave my teachers that were doing recs for me a sheet listing all the things in which i was involved, etc. is that something i should also do for college professors that i'll ask to write recs when i beging applying for a transfer?

I was wondering the same thing. I think it's probably smart to do it, especially if you don't know the professor well. I'm worried about actually asking a professor for a transfer rec, I'm afraid he'll be like "why would you want to leave this wonderful school?"

Man I worry about the why would you wanna leave question, too! I know I really need to ask my advisor, but he really likes me and all so I am nervous about disappointing/upsetting him by leaving. Man this is difficult.

yeah, i know how you guys feel, too. i have not yet told my advisor that i'm trying to transfer, though i know i will eventually have to tell him. and same for my other profs. my chemistry prof, who i'd like to recommend me, already offered me a research project for next semester and an expenses paid trip to england next summer for research there. i just kind of told him that i'd think about it, but have yet to tell him i want to transfer.
