the professor short response...i went to the site under CAS (international relations) and found i think a list of faculty/staff...they didn't specify that they'r "professors" but rather "directors", "lecturers", etc. is that correct? or am i in the wrong place?

and also, should i choose a prof who teaches the major i'm interested in? if i want to be econ major, is it okay if i choose an int'l relations prof??

Doesn’t have to be a prof in the major you’re interested in, just an area that you are interested in (if that makes sense) For instance, I’m interested in Biological Basis of Behaviour, but I wrote about a prof which teaches in the History and Sociology of Science Department.

umm what does practice professor mean?

idk…someone who’s not a real prof yet but is practicing to become one in the future?

well, the best way is to pick a prof whose work interests you. Also it’s great if you actually know one, have talked to, or took summer class with, but if you don’t know any, it’s fine. I remember picking a random professor on the school website to write about in my app. lol
