Professor/Student Relationships

Hi there, to any current students, and better yet, students who have transferred from an LAC to NYU,

How are the professors at NYU? Do you think you get enough guidance/individual attention from the professors?

Especially in comparison to a Liberal Arts College, how do the professor/student relationships work and foster at NYU?

Thanks!

in my large lecture classes, it depends on the professor. my history of communication professor is very open and has open office hours and i know him well.

i don’t know my political theory professor at all.

for my small lecture classes, i knew them VERY well. i’m a media major, and i knew them so well i knew their twitter screennames and blog addresses. :stuck_out_tongue: you definitely have to work and make a connection. speak up in class, talk after class, maybe send a few emails. it’s easy to just do the work and leave. but it’s also easy to form a connection.
