Professors Political Leanings

Anyone else get annoyed professors inject their political opinions into class lectures as facts?
Shouldn't a college education be based more on objectivity and either encompassing multiple views, or attempt to remain independent of a professors personal ideas?

Well, at my school we're known for being very liberal, most the students are liberal, and it's just a given that most the professors are too. We're kind of living in a liberal haven, and people generally know that it's that kind of environment before they arrive. But at a school that doesn't have a specific political reputation, I would be irritated by that, whether I agreed or not, because I feel that I should have the right to choose whether I want to live in a certain political environment or live in an unbiased one for college.

The other thing to consider is that nowadays, "political opinions" and "facts" are really mixed up and sometimes hard to separate in a truly unbiased way.

^I have to agree. To me, it'd be no different than having a teacher trying to push their faith on me and trying to present that sort of thing as a fact. I think it should be treated the same way, too. I think it's healthy for the professor to debate the students, but to present things from a skewed perspective is totally different.
