Profile for class of 2013?

Actually you’d be surprised at the percentage of people in the “upper echelon of the world” who graduated from really terrible colleges, like tier 2 private schools, bad state schools, community colleges, etc.

Why don’t you actually talk to some employers or people who recently entered the job market They’ll all tell you that graduates from HYP often get offers because they are usually the most qualified. The name of the school paired with a good GPA might buy them an interview, but they still have to win the job like everyone else.

loving the “criminals” section on the Tufts alumn wiki.

my brother is Bates '07 and looking at a facebook group of jpmorgan analysts that he started with the following schools are represented: Dartmouth, Maryland, Tufts, Trinity, Michigan, Harvard, NYU, Pace, Arizona, Wake Forest…etc

I’m pretty sure JPMorgan looks at Tufts primarily because the CEO went here.
I only say that because I’m pretty sure from talking to people in the banking world that no other bulge brackets really recruit at tufts. which I couldn’t care less about.

Hey there Skateboarder…I’ve sort of followed your comments because I check in regularly to see what’s up, and you comment often. I think you’re a little scared that you passed up a better opportunity for a college (choice), and that now that you’ve made this one (even though it was based on your gut feelings), you are worried about prestige and rank…I think it’s okay for you to be uncomfortable. We learn alot that way in particular…and our struggles help to shape us sometimes in more interesting and authentic ways than if we didn’t have struggles in the first place. I hope that when you look back four years from now, as a mature senior, with more life’s experience and wisdom, that you will kindheartedly laugh at yourself and all your doubts…and know that you did the right thing for you, and that it was a very good thing, done for the right reasons…There’s a chance you will give yourself alot of credit for following your instincts. You, out of everybody could be a shining example for those who doubt, who eventually understand what it’s really all about. If you end up being challenged not only as a student but as a person, and derive what you consider to be an excellent education by the end of all this…you will have learned a valuable lesson…and I’m sure you know what that is…that you can trust yourself and your instincts. That my friend, can be the most empowering lesson of all!

Eye,

That was a nice message. I have come to terms with my decision, and I’m happy about it. I’m excited and have realized that I shouldn’t doubt my intuition just because of what others think. I want to apologize a little for my earlier rants. I didn’t want to sound ungrateful for the opportunity to go to tufts, I was just using this online forum as a place to vent.

That you are honestly expressing yourself and your doubts helps everybody…and how else could we have dialogue? It’s all good…even your questions and doubts…it’s part of the process…I really hope you will continue sharing your experiences and thoughts…it will be interesting to see how it goes…I wish you the very best!

thank you.
