Cal transfers had a better gpa.

UCLA avg. transfer gpa: 3.69
UCB (25th-75th%) gpa: 3.75-3.80

What’s up now UCLA?

Did we hurt your feelings, cooldude6? UCLA > Berkeley - boom! ;)

UCLA

2006 - 3.56
2007 - 3.58
2008 - 3.62
2009 - 3.62
2010 - 3.69

I give it max of 2 years until it’s >3.7.

I’m guessing by the time my lil bro (age 8) applies to college they might be almost if not already on par in terms of rankings.

For California residents:

UCLA Cal

applied: 15,721 12,338

admitted: 4,495 3,301

% admitted: 28.59% 26.75%

Go Bears!

sorry for bringing it down with my 3.51, guys =P

It’s Cal… meaning that it is California’s first University. UCLA is great, but Berkeley outranks this school in almost every major, usually by a lot. Academically, Berkeley imo will always be the best UC and one of the top schools in the nation.

As a University, however, I already think UCLA is a better fit for most people. It may not have Berkeley accomplished professors or have ‘35 of its 36 programs ranked in the top 10,’ but it offers the college experience that students yearn for with excellent academics.

I think it is pretty silly to compare admission statistics to try to prove which school is better. Just because one school is SLIGHTLY harder to get into doesn’t make it better. I think Merage (UCI) was ‘supposedly’ more competitive than Haas (Cal), but we all know that Merage doesn’t hold a candle to Haas.

you guys are a bunch of whiney babies seriously!!
lol

Just chill out-you got in-ucla is a good school, cal is a good school, they’re allllllll good. It’s all good. Stop obsessing and find another hobby :)

I’m pretty sure we were all joking until the Berkeley fan boys showed up and tried to **** on our parade. ;)

lol at the term “Berkeley fan boys”

Amen @ predict hahahaha

Omg I’m so happy I’m not going to UCLA. There’s an inferiority thing already happening here and I want no part in it. Of course, I am gonna miss out on the possibility of bumping into Ashley Tisdale. Life is full of compromises I guess.

^ Hahahah damn. You’re just overkilling it.

Apparently UCI’s average admitted GPA was a 3.5 this year.

1/50,000 chance of seeing her, right? haha

feels even better that I basically applied without a GPA only the classes in the fall

@ cooldude-wellsaid
I hate the stupid reputation games haah
Just like a school for what it is-nobody gives a crap that ucla is what, ONE ranking below cal’s grrrrr! lol

Here is the update for individual majors:

[Profile of Admitted Transfer Students by Major, Fall 2010 - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Adm_tr/Tr_Prof10_mjr.htm)

@cali trumpet, i saw that! that is intense. i’m going in as a pre biz econ and its avg is 3.94–i remember seeing last year’s stats of just a 3.87ish!
